The new Pew poll finds that Obama leads Mitt Romney among registered voters nationally by 50 to 43. But the more interesting finding may be that there’s been a big swing against Romney on the economy in particular: Mitt Romney has lost ground over the past month on the issue of the economy. The eight-point advantage he held in June as the candidate better able to improve the economy has now flipped, with 48% saying Obama can better improve economic conditions, while 42% favor Romney. In June, Romney led Obama by 23 points, 54-31, among independents on the economy. That lead has dwindled down to four points; Romney now leads among them on the issue by 43-39. And this is even more interesting: The swing on the economy has been bigger in the dozen battleground states than it has been nationally, though the difference is within the margin of error. In June, Romney led Obama in those dozen states by eight points on the economy, 49-41. Now Obama leads Romney in those same states by nine points, 50-41. Interestingly, there’s been no shift in the horse race numbers in those states — Obama leads 51-44, similar to last month — but clearly, Romney has lost real ground on the economy in them, even though he has been relentlessly pounding Obama’s economic stewardship as a disastrous failure. What’s more, this comes as voters remain sour on the economy — 51 percent say they are hearing mostly bad news about jobs — yet Obama seems to be neutralizing or even reversing Romney’s previous advantage on the issue anyway, at least in this poll. www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/post/mitt-romney-losing-ground-on-economy/2012/07/12/gJQAGIWvfW_blog.html

Most economist have said the economy isn't going to get any better by November; some have said it will stagnate more.
Let's see what those number say then.

Actually, I think the economy will get better over the next few months. It won't be healed, but things will move forward.
In November, people will judge not only how far things have moved forward, but how much obstruction was actually done, to stop it from advancing.
The right might find they've failed. But that won't matter. They have the memory retention of a gold fish, so they'll start all over under "new leadership," which will be the same old group of people who've rebranded themselves, just like they did since Bush became a leper to the party.

Perhaps true, but there is no way in hell that the Republican Party shoudl be in the position they are now. Following the election of Obama, the Republicans were cast to the wilderness for a generation, only to return to power within 2 years. I might ad that they didn't return to power through re-branding themselves, I submit they returned to power because most Americans suffered buyers remorse. How horrible it is to live in a nation where Americans woudl prefer to have Bush back in office then to go on with Obama as President. Wow!

Not rebranding? Take a look around. People like Cheney are still throwing their clout around. They did Rick Perry in on the campaign trail, because he "disagreed with Cheney."
They're instrumental in the TP movement. They are the bankroll for people like Walker in Wisconsin. They are the ultra-rich, and those who are getting extremely wealthy by insuring that the outsourcing empires stay intact, and free of taxes.
No. It's rebranding with the same old cast of characters.

The point I am trying to make is that there is no way in hell the Republicans should have any power given the 8 years of domestic and foreign failures of the Bush Administration.
Yet, here they are and it isn't the money that got them here.

You're right. They shouldn't have any power. The problem is, people are blinded by the BS being thrown around by Republican "leadership," and money being thrown at ads, to protect the money empire.
If they totally lost power, and didn't even have filibuster capability for two years, the party would rework itself, throwing out the rebranded neocon influences that have been guiding it like puppet masters.
If that happened, I'd be one of the first to jump back on board what would be a true conservative party agenda, intended on bettering this nation, not hindering it through class warfare.

Hate, lies, deceit, Fear tactics and the vote from inbred southerners is what has kept the Republican party from imploding.

No Amoeba. Democrats could have ruled the Universe for the next 20 years with what happened under the Bush Administration, but you numbskulls had to go and elect a half white Islamofascist who wasn't even born in this country.

What good is a popular President if you sell your Congress?

PC? Explain exactly why you call Obama an Islamofascist. Then, explain why the fact Obama is multi-cultural has anything to do with any issue.
I'm curious to know exactly why those two statements make sense.
