Currently 98 degrees. However, Saturday it is expected to be a 106 freakin degrees and on Sunday, ONLY 102 degrees. However, my Fiancee is in Appleton, WI boating and enjoying HOT weather, I am sure. I thought that y'all were suppose to either be in the high 70's or low 80's..at the highest, at this time of the year.

It got up to an unofficial 106 degrees here yesterday. Then the electricity went out, just as roughly 3,000 campers and vacationers had set up, and began drinking. In the end, we only had 4 arrests, and had to chase down two 20 year old "men," I say that with tongue in cheek, who attempted to burglarize a cabin. This was my second chase in the woods in three weeks. Don't these morons know they aren't going to get away from experienced people? Anyhow, both earned trips to the county jail until Monday morning, when they go before a judge for arraignment, and bail hearing. They're dead to rights caught! So... my day started at 5 PM last night, ended at 3 AM this morning, and I was up, and out to the area where we caught them, to check for anything we might not have found when we made the arrest. Sometimes, work is never done.

I guess it's foolish for us to complain about heat. My son just transferred from one COP to another in Afghanistan, and the daily temperature at his new base runs around 120 every day. At night, it gets down to a balmy 80 degrees or so. Rain? Three or four months ago, a couple of drops. It's called a "desert" where he's at. They have a water shortage there too. It seems they just can't get the damned supplies for the Pizza Huts, Starbucks, and Burger Kings off the damned shipments into country, so there's room for supplies the troops need. This is the product of the Bush/Cheney fiasco in contracts going back to his bull crap in Iraq. Same contractors, the contracts haven't been broken yet, because there are catches to breaking them. Personally, I think they should be sent packing! This is as bad as Nam, and it's not acceptable! I'm going to be thankful for what I have, and the fact it's not as hot as he's seeing, and I don't have to wear a heavy suit of clothes with body armor every time I step out of a tent. That's hell on earth, and Pizza Hut keeps getting their supplies!....
