Well, I am finally doing it after talking about it for who knows how long.....I am dumping TW Cable and getting DIRECTV. Install is tomorrow morning. I am having it mount on a pole in our backyard vs on the house. I negotiated with them down to $50 to do this (Not bad since they wanted $125 to start) Keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have issues with my tv seeing I signed a two year deal

In July/August, Direct TV was giving away the NFL Sunday Ticket and much, much more. Since my contract with Fios Verizon had expired, I had Direct TV installed and currently have Fios Verizon Internet and phone AND Direct TV for around $80/month. Also, IF you do the 'autopay' option, you will save $10/month. The biggest problem with Direct TV is when there is bad weather/clouds and there is no signal/reception.

I don't think I've lost signal more than a total of six hours in an entire year, and that includes time the dish was covered in snow.
You just knock the snow off and keep trucking.

I was wondering how bad things got in Green Bay re snow clouds.
I have lost power a couple of times, due to rain storms, DURING PACKER GAMES..which was very upsetting. One power outage was for 1 hour and the other was 15 minutes, or so.

Well its installed and running great. My installer said the a trick some people use is spraying the dish with Pam or WD-40. That helps with any water droplets on the dish.
They also sell heaters for the dish to keep all snow off

There's even a cover you can put over it, which causes the snow to fall away. They say it works real well. I have been thinking about getting one. They say it works. Seriously! I don't know if there's a problem with water on it. Usually it's lost with rain, due to thick clouds to the south. They make plain ones as well, and those that even cover the horn.
