You should see whether your local govt. has a Disability Services Board and be on the email contact list. There is lots of important info. from the Board. In fact, I was handing out $200/month transportation applications (wheelchair disabled) & $100/month transportation applications (non-wheelchair disabled) at local hospitals, assisted living facilities, churches, pharmacies, grocery schools...

Also, I have been trying to see whether wheelchair accessible vehicles can be better regulated by local and state laws. Currently, wheelchair transportation is at least $100, regardless of the distance. >:(

Homeless shelters and evacuation for the disabled are important issues and you need to make sure that you are on ALL lists and can be contacted ASAP.
