If are starting OT's from last year are replaced this year they better get extra padding for Rodgers.

sharp, I think tausch might be gone, unless he shows better than hoped for development on rehab.
I do hope clifton stays a full year so he can tutor Meredith into being another premier LT next year, And I think Lang is quick enough to play RT (especially since he has TE help to his side)

As an insurance policy, I would sign Tausch to a contract that is loaded with incentives. Although, Tausch may not be healthy to play until after the first 4 games, it will be extremely beneficial to have him on the roster.

I have a problem with the way TT has handled the o-line, but I believe there is a bit too much hand wringing over Tauscher and don't for a minute believe that there is any "conspiracy" to rid the team of Sherman era players. (Sorry if that offends.) Look at the Sherman era guys who are off the team. Many if not most are out of football completely. It's not like TT is dumping good players for other teams to pick up - just because they were Sherman guys.
This happens every time there is a regime change. Ron Wolf dumped Bryce Paup, Tony Bennett, Jackie Harris, Chuck Cecil, Matt Brock, John Jurkovic and others who went on to be productive players elsewhere. In his first 4 years, Wolf turned over 95+% of the roster. (There were only 3 players left from the Bratz era by year 4.) Seems like TT learned this from his mentor - or it could just be the nature of the beast. I mean 4 years is a long time in the NFL and guys move on, get hurt, are traded, etc. (Heck, even Lombardi turned over half his starters from his first until his last championship - a span of 6 years. Several of whom were let go due to injury.)
Tauscher is up in years and did not perform as well last year as in years previous. I've heard people say it's because of the lousy guards, but the guards have been lousy for 3 years and he looked better a couple of years ago. I'm no saying his play stunk, but there was a noticable slip.
If any teams felt that Tauscher was truly a good risk at this point, he'd have offers, considering the position he plays. I think the entire NFL has seen the fall-off, even though it's not huge. Add in the injury, and before teams are willing to pay, they want to be sure he can play. The Packers are no different. Yes, it's cold hearted and cutthroat, but that is the way the NFL is and it happens to players better and worse than Tauscher every year. The fact is 100% of the teams would do the same thing - because they are. Nobody is making offers.
I beleive that in the end, if Tauscher is able to participate in camp and the team thinks he has a shot to start, a deal will get done. If not, they need to move forward with guys they know are physically able to play. I wish Tausch well, whether it's with the Pack or another team - he's been a hell of a good player and a Packer/local boy we can all be proud of.
