Yeah. In theory, it's not a bad idea. It would be Alaska redux, added primarily for the natural resources. The US tried to buy it in 1867 & 1946, both times Denmark said no

never knew that.I remember years of people saying that the USA will soon bring Canada in as new territory and then divide it up in a number of new states. that did not well.  |
