So, who gets cut? You thinking Myles White? I doubt it. Look for another guy to get the ax Monday, when the Jones deal becomes final.
I won't even venture a guess They'll go with 6 receivers, and short change a different position.

It is the tight ends, if they go with Quarless and R Rodgers then Backman. that leaves them with Adams, Montgomery, (Cobb, maybe by game 2)J Jones,to replace Cobbs reps. Then White and Janis. total 5. I think the passing game is in big trouble right now, Only thing that could save them is IF the TE,s can come out catching the ball to push the chains a lot. Backman and Rodgers need to help make the catches on the third and shorts.look for Lacy to get extra passing plays this year.

I was surprised White was cut. I now wonder if the Packers signed Jones just for the short haul, until Cobb is up and running strong again. If that's the case, they could end up cutting Jones when Cobb is healthy, and bring White back, or promote Abbs from the PS.
Interesting chess game going on in the Packer front office.

I know they cut Bradford and Thornton, both who had decent contracts, Maybe they already knew that Jones was going to be available and they needed cap money for Jones, So, i still have not heard how much Jones is going to cost the team for one season. If he gets let go once Cobb comes back, i can see the fans lighting up the boards asking why would they bring him in and then cut him?(which could happen) I just do not see Jones being the guy who the Packers should be looking for, I like him as a player, but we already have three others that do what he did best and does.

I think they're looking at Abbs being back on the roster after the suspensions are served by our d-line. There could be a cut in that area to accommodate.

Is Cobb going to be ready for game one?

Big question at this point. The injury list comes out Wednesday, so we'll hear where he stands. I doubt that he'll suit up to be honest. I think he's out for at least three weeks. Just a guess though.

Just read Abbs, got a three year deal worth 300 thousand then 4 hundred and then if still on roster 600,000. I am not sure i trust this source, but that is what they printed.

yep, now that he is off the Practice squad, they gave him just a three year rookie deal. the numbers are close to what he got, the latest being only 600,000 . seems to me they are not sold on him.

Cap space is at a premium. They have to be certain that they stay under, and can sign another guy down the road, if there;s an injury that needs to be addressed.
I don't think the Packers are sold on anyone outside of the top 4 receivers, and one of them is on the shelf (Nelson).
The key to being valuable in GB is learning routes, and running them crisply, then knowing what to do on broken plays.

your right, and Abbs short time impressed Rodgers with his route running.
