I'm interested in seeing what happens today. The State Senate called back to discuss the issue of the proposed stadium for the MIlwaukee Bucks. The city & county of Milwaukee discussing it all in Town Hall meetings.
Personally, I don't think Walker will carry this one through. He's already telling the people of Wisconsin he's "Presidential material." I don't think he is, but then, I remember Bush standing on the deck of an aircraft carrier in full flight gear, a foot on the step leading to the cockpit of a fighter jet, and the statement; "Mission Accomplished," emblazoned on the picture. That was in reference to Iraq. A totally stupid statement by him, and his supporters. It still isn't done, all these years later.
Walker would leave Wisconsin with this problem? Tax people in Northwestern Wisconsin for a team in Milwaukee that they'll never see play, and don't even support. That's Timberwolf country to start with. What a putz!
The Bucks fan reach isn't broad enough to make them a state wide interest. Most areas of Wisconsin could care less if they move. The whole thing is a lobby for the Milwaukee area, not the entire state. Even in Milwaukee, those who aren't Bucks fans, or who won't make money by them being there, are not supportive.
It's a crap shoot to be honest. I've reached a point that I no longer care. I have watched Wisconsin being decimated by a moron in Madison to the point it's absurd. Doing away with degrees to be teachers? Let anyone in to teach as long as they have "life experience?" Those supportive of this issue say that there are people without degrees who are more qualified. Yeah! Their ability to communicate properly with students, and are psychologically prepared for the job aren't necessary. Joe Schmoe, on the other hand, who dropped out of school in 10th grade and became a carpenter can take over the shop classes. Hell! We can also let Millie the waitress at the local greasy spoon take over the Home Ec classes. She knows all about it...,.
No. Time to let the Bucks walk away. I haven't believed they've been anything but a "farm team" for the big winners in the NBA for a long time. Milwaukee shouldn't be happy getting "scraps" from the big boys.
