Bostic...many will point to the onsides kick...but his lack or production (and talk that he still didn't know the offense) and his injury history all worked against him.
On Cobb...seems he wants an average of 9 mil a year. I think they can structure it to come out just under that and probably retain him easily. Glad he was not shooting for the moon like Jennings asking for 15mil.

no problem with Bostick going, he missed assignments a lot and his hands were good but he was hurt a lot and he was not much of a blocker. I hope Perrlio can step up. I like him early. R. Rodgers looks good, but to soon to tell yet. and then we have Quarles, he is decent on all parts of the TE position but he is no starter. we need to find that 6'6" 265 lber with soft hands soon.

If Bostick was as bad as they would like I us to believe, he should have been cut earlier, and someone else signed. Pointing out all his weaknesses now is strictly a matter of showing "why" they cut him, to offset the fact he's been offered up as the "cause" of the loss. That bad? What the hell was he doing on the roster, and even worse, if that bad, why the hell did they have him on the field for that important kick?
More PR BS to cover their using him as a scapegoat. I have zero respect for what McCarthy has done since the loss. Someone has to pay for the coaching failures.
If I was Cobb, I'd opt to go elsewhere. I'd even take less than what the Packers offer. His day could come as the scapegoat for McCarthy's inadequate coaching.

That bad? I don't think he is a terrible guy...but better than they could have gotten during a season and you have to have guys around. He was "that bad" apparently offensively...but was probably decent special teamer in the past.
I think your dislike for MM continues to cloud you here. I don't think its a scapegoat...just the next in the line of moves they make. Cut now to save money...Hawk, Jones...next up.
Why would Cobb go elsewhere for less? So he could be Jennings or Jones and not have a competent QB?

Cobb, like any other player, wants the ring on his finger. If you listen to players with big contracts, they would prefer playing for teams with that being a real opportunity.
If Cobb left, he'd go to Seattle, New England, or possibly Dallas, New Orleans, or anyone else who has a QB who can make him a star, and give him that shot at the ring. I see Cobb getting five years with someone else, and a lot of front money.
Would he rather be in GB? It is possible, but as long as he is, he's second fiddle to Nelson, despite the fact he's so versatile. If he did go to Seattle, he would be exactly what they need to be a dynasty. He'd be that guy that was so versatile that he'd actually complement their entire offense in a way that could put him on track to the HOF.
I think he's that talented, with what he offers.

I bet he signs with the Packers.

I agree he may want to go to Seattle...though, he also might see he would be second fiddle to the running game and to Wilson. NE...again, another maybe...but might also see that he won't just be getting Brady for too much longer either (and would be 2nd fiddle to Gronk)
I don't think the Saints have the cap room to make moves like that right now. Dallas...they are going to pass on Dez and Murray to sign Cobb? I guess they could.

The reasons I suggested Seattle was because of both Wilson, and their running game. It would make him an even better option since he works well off the ball, when a QB scrambles. Wilson does move around a lot. Just seems like a good fit for his talents. I thought Harvin would be that guy, but his head got in the way.
I think the Brady ability, along with Gronk, means that there would be more opportunities for a speed man, who can handle the ball pretty well. Gronk is such an inside presence that it would make Cobb a real outside threat, without double coverage. Brady can hit guys like that pretty well. If Brady had a second major option, it could extend his career at least a couple of years, since he'd have a second guy who he could release the ball to, and count on.
You're probably right on the Saints. They're mortgaged pretty heavily. For Cobb, it would have to be a combination of a team that needed his services and would pay heavily for it, but would also have to be a contender. He may be the most saught after guy in free agency this year. Hard to say.

2 year deal, now if they can teach him to follow instructions he could turn out to be a solid TE.

2 year deal, now if they can teach him to follow instructions he could turn out to be a solid TE. He could be. Has to get luckier with his own injuries and know the offense a bit better. Solid enough special teamer (til the biggest mistake he could possibly make there). The telling thing with him is he could never do enough to get past Rodgers and Quarless. Seemed early in camp he was getting a lot of press about his progress...then injuries and whatever really stalled that.

He's also a source of information on the Packers offense, if he doesn't make the team, that's still a gain.
Why is it that we're hearing here that he was good when the leaks coming from the Packers themselves said he wasn't learning the offense like he should, and was often out of position, or ran the wrong routes?
Anyhow, that's the house organ statements... the reason he's gone.

Cobb wants close to 12 million, He did not get the Franchise tag(neither did Bulaga) If Cobb sticks to over 10 million, i see him gone. I hope we can come to a decent contract with him. but we have until 3 pm sat to talk to him alone before other teams are allowed.wish the offensive line stays together, one thing is certain the longer a line plays together the better they get as a unit. this group is very good and they can protect Rodgers better by not disrupting the group.Bulaga is only 25 years old. they should pay him to stay.

Yeah...interesting to see where the 12 mil is coming from. I don't see anyone paying that. As good a Cobb is...he is more of a slot guy and they typically don't break the bank. And yeah, im with you on if he sticks to over 10. Depends who will offer him more. If its Jax and Oakland...GB has a shot at getting him cheaper. If its someone like Indy...he is gone. Also with you on Bulaga. Since coming back from injury...he was much improved and the line as a whole playing together was much better than before with rotating parts.
