It was a headline on the front page of the UK's top newspaper. The same newspaper that had recently praised Romney for his plan to come to the UK, to met Cameron, and other top UK officials. In other words, they praised his reaching out to the UK as being a gesture of friendship, and a departure from the Bush belief that the people of the UK, should be obedient little beggars whose thoughts could only mirror those of Bush. They felt it would show the Brits that the Republican leadership would pursue good foreign relations. In one swift blow, Romney destroyed all of it, by blowing his own horn, and suggesting the Brits hadn't prepared too well for the Olympics. Then he went on, at a later time, to indicate that his work was superior to theirs, because of his "leadership skills," and the fact that he had business leadership. After all that, he came out and said that his words weren't intended as an insult, just an observation, and that the Olympics he made successful (Note: He made them successful! ) were because his was done in an area where there were fewer people. What he failed to say was that when he took over the Olympics in the US, he was given the job because he was a Mormon, and the Mormons were the ones from a business standpoint, that had actually brought the operations to a grinding halt. He was hired on because of his faith more than his business acumen. They Mormons in Utah play well with each other, not with non-believers. For all his stupidity, the man they wanted to like in the UK is now called: Mitt the Twit! I think he's just as stupid as Bush when it comes to foreign policy. IF Bush wouldn't have had Powell, then Rice, to navigate through foreign policy, it would have been even worse. Romney won't have either of them to clean up the messes this guy will make prior to the November elections. All of Europe is now concerned that we might be stupid enough to elect a moron like this to office!

He spoke the truth. Boo hoo.
When England has to call up their version of the National Guard to protect the young athletes so we don't have another 1972 terrorist event, people screwed up.
How many years dd thy have to prepare for security and traffc issues?
And he did save the Salt Lake Olympics and only a liberal would use religion for "cause and effect" when it suits them, othewise religion is irreleveant in everyday American life for them.
Either religion is important, or i isn't; don't use it as a crux when your guy in the White House can't even manage "Cash for Clunkers."

You might look at the security fiasco's at what the right like's to call; "Mitt's olympics." They had problems during the first few days that actually caused people to miss events they'd paid thousands of dollars to attend.
People left for events and stood at checkpoints for hours trying to get into a venue.
Please! Don't tell me how Mitt did it so well. There are always a few things that don't work perfectly.

Did the President, let alone the Governor of Utah, have to call out the Guard to protect the young athletes?
I think not. Many hail Mitt Romney for saving the Salt Lake games.
Quit raining on his parade 'cause your'e an anglophile.

Yes, there were Guards on duty.

At the 2002 Olympics, there were thousands of Olympic security guards, thousands of police officers from Salt Lake City, 3,400 people from the National Guard and 1,100 other military personnel. Perhaps 10,000 people in all were on hand to guard the 1.6 million visitors and keep them safe. express.howstuffworks.com/mb-host-city.htmThe difference between Salt Lake and London is that organizers planned to have the National Guard on hand. It did not take an executive order to call them up because of security lapses. London screwed up organizing their security to protect the young athletes and visitors. I am not sure why you want to dispute their lack of organization, as if it never happened, to make Romney sound like his analysis was incorrect. He was dead on though rude to criticize someone in their own home. Thankfully, he did not apologize for how America will reign supreme in these summer games unlike someone we know, but will *Barack Obama* not mention.

So keep on believing. It's what right wing enthusiasts do. You also forgot to mention that the area for the Olympics Romney oversaw was just a fraction in size to the summer games, which they are handling, in one of the world's largest population centers. Once again, using a handful of Romney peanuts to compare against a handful of Kruggerands. I always like it when right wingers send their one-legged contestant to an arse kicking contest.

Here's an interesting statement by Romney, while in Israel.
He'd support an air attack by the Israelis against the Iranians, to destroy their nuclear capability.
Is the man insane? You cannot tell a nation like Israel to do whatever they want, we'll cover their arses. It's insane! We're already stretched to the breaking point with our military, and we have massive cuts to defense spending right around the corner, because they automatically go into play, since both sides of the aisle agreed to them.
Add ignorance on the part of Romney's staff. Scheduled a fund-raiser dinner in Israel, on a holiday of fasting. What part of 'CAN'T EAT ANYTHING!", did the Romney morons miss?

His position is the same as Obamas (which Obama's position is the same as Bush's position of course)...
"We should employ any and all measures to dissuade the Iranian regime from its nuclear course, and it is our fervent hope that diplomatic and economic measures will do so," Romney said in an outdoor speech at Mishkenot Sha'anamim, a cultural center in Jerusalem. "In the final analysis, of course, no option should be excluded. We recognize Israel's right to defend itself, and that it is right for America to stand with you. "
...and the fundraising dinner happens after sunset tonight, so relax.
Try being offended sometime when Obama ignores Christian tradition please.

And the tomfoolery continues as "Officials" snuff out the Olympic flame to move it. The decision sparked more controversy around the flame, which has brought nothing but troubled headlines for London's organizational hierarchy. Critics had already ripped the location of the flame within the stadium -- which kept the flame from being viewed from outside the stadium. Sightings of it are restricted to paying spectators for the track-and-field events, which start at the end of the week. "It just seems that anytime you hear something about the flame, it is never good," said fan Sarah Blight from Chelmsford, just outside London, as she watched Olympic badminton on Monday. "I suppose it doesn't affect the actual running of the thing, but it is a bit of a shame. I mean, the flame isn't supposed to go out, is it?" It isn't supposed to go out, but it now has on two occasions in the lead-up to and during these Games. On the third day of the torch relay around Great Britain, a technical malfunction in one of the torches caused the flame to die out, prompting an initial wave of embarrassment. Many viewers also took issue with the decision to use seven young athletes rather than a well-known former Olympian to set the petal-like structure alight at the Opening Ceremony. sports.yahoo.com/news/olympics--olympic-flame-extinguished--relocated-within-stadium.html

There are errors at every Olympics. You're grasping at straws.
Romney proved he was a loose cannon with his dumb-assed comment.
He should learn to choose his words with a little thought.

I think Romeny was right. How were his words wrong?
I understand that you believe the Brits planned to lose the keys to Wembley, upset the many fans and participants by placing the Olympic flame away from the view of fans and athletes, planned to snuff out the Olympic flame and move it once public complaints reached a fever pitch and brought to fruition the multitudes of empty seats.
I, however, am not as easily convinced that this was all planned.
