: WTF!!! I mean, is Romney on DRUGS? Mitt Romney told the NAACP today that he has the "best interest" of all Americans at heart and outlined why he believes President Obama has failed blacks on issues such as the economy and education. "I believe that if you understood who I truly am in my heart, and if it were possible to fully communicate what I believe is in the real, enduring best interest of African-American families, you would vote for me for president," Romney said during his remarks in Houston. content.usatoday.com/communities/onpolitics/post/2012/07/mitt-romney-naacp-speech-/1Back to REALITY.. NAACP crowd boos Romney for vowing to repeal health reformMitt Romney found himself on the receiving end of a loud chorus of boos when he promised to repeal health care reform during a speech before the NAACP. "If our goal is jobs, we have to stop spending over a trillion dollars more than we take in every year. So to do that, I'm going to eliminate every non-essential, expensive program I can find. That includes Obamacare, and I'm going to work to reform and save -- " Romney said, being interrupted by boos. firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/07/11/12682894-naacp-crowd-boos-romney-for-vowing-to-repeal-health-reform?chromedomain=nbcpolitics&lite

If a white racist group can support Obama, then it is certainly plausible that a black racist group can support Romney.

They could have listened to Romney instead of acting like they didn't have good sense. Agree with him or not, he has stated a position supported by a lot of Americans.
If the man does become President, they're going to have to find a way to work with the man, and reactions like they had today doesn't help that cause.

If a white racist group can support Obama, then it is certainly plausible that a black racist group can support Romney. OK, Obama will only receive 95% of the African-American vote. Does that make you feel better? ;D

Imagine that Romney 'the liar' is exposed for trying to BS blacks and the NAACP. Black caucus pols slam Mitt RomneyTwo members of the state’s legislative black caucus this afternoon blasted former Gov. Mitt Romney’s comments to the NAACP as “misleading,” after a Herald report showed a local African American leader defending the presumptive GOP presidential nominee. “Governor Romney’s remarks at the NAACP conference that he worked well with African-American legislators while governor are misleading at best. Romney rarely met with members of the Legislature, never mind the Massachusetts Black Caucus, and he certainly did not have a plan addressing issues facing communities of color,” state representatives Linda Dorcena Forry and Gloria Fox, both Boston Democrats, wrote in a joint statement. “As members of the black caucus during his tenure, we watched with our colleagues as Gov. Romney slashed public education funding for our children, stifled growth at our community colleges and drastically increased fees, i.e license renewal, that directly impact the quality of life of our residents.”The statement comes after Romney was briefly booed after he told NAACP convention-goers in Houston, Texas, yesterday that he would be better for black families than President Obama. news.bostonherald.com/news/politics/view/20220712black_caucus_pols_slam_mitt_romney/

Earlier today, I heard a Fox commentator state that Joe Biden has never been a friend of the black community.
Apparently they didn't do their homework. He's been an active NAACP supporter, and actually participated in demonstrations in the past.
So much for reporting honestly.

I think TW is right when he said the NAACP didn't act with good sense when booing Romney's position.
Alot of Americans do not support Obamacare.
I was watching an interview with the head of the NAACP Washington Chapter and I had to chuckle at his first statement when he said the NAACP was a bi-partisan organization.
And then he went on to say that because Romeny was talking to a group of black folk that he should have changed his speech so that the group would have been more receptive to his words.
The political position speech given by Romeny was a speech he had given time and time and time and time and time again but this joker wanted the text changed to appease the listener.
I think America is pretty d**n tired having a politician make a statement based on the people he is talking towards.

If Romney was smart, he would have explained how his plans for America would have helped people in minority communities. He didn't do that.
If he has a plan, other than saying; "There's a safety net for poor people!," he should state it openly, and enlist the help of people in making that dream come true.
Instead, his whole campaign has been based on protection of the highest income individuals in the US, and pretty much telling those in the lower echelons of society, there's a "net" for them.
I'm sorry. I don't consider that wise. I think he should spell out his plans, not just say; "We're gonna get rid of Obamacare!" If he doesn't have a plan, he's obviously not a viable candidate.
The only thing people in the lower income levels can say is that he obviously intends to screw them.

The poor have playing the victim down to a science.
"I disagree with you, ergo, you will screw me."
I do agree with you that Romeny does need to elaborate on what he will replace Obamacare with, it is his achilies heal right now by not explaining.
On other topics, he did explain such as having federal dollars for eduation follow the student instead of the school etc. Yes a voucher system, but poor performing schools should be left to fail and the only way to force them to perform or to close is by giving control to parents on where and how their child is educated.

If Romney gets in, then this is one sick country, and we need a docs care, oh forget it, romney will not let the poor have a shot at buying a decent health care package, and earn a decent living. I think he wants this country for the rich and ship us all to other places to work and send our money back to him to use. that souinds like him

I do not think Romney wants to ship Americans overseas. Who would the rich have to exploit then?

Think about that statement. Have you taken the time to figure out why that's the case? It's called survival.
If you ever end up as one of those people, I hope like hell you have the ability to find ways to keep you and your own safe, by finding out what you can get for help, within the system.
Of course, don't be offended when some young guy 25 years old refers to you as a "dead-beat," even though he's still sponging his living off Mom & Pop.

I have to say that the one thing I have perfected in my time on this political forum is making callous, inflammatory and indifferent remarks as a Republican.
I really don't think there is anyone who can top me.

Romney has very few ideas of his own and is being manipulated and controlled by the GOP. What a loser puppet.
